Ami Shah is the senior strategic project coordinator for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Since 2018, she has been involved in the planning, execution, and evaluation of large-scale interprofessional education events across the seven health sciences colleges at UIC.

Background: Successful large enrollment Interprofessional Education (IPE) programs benefit from the expertise of skilled facilitators; however, finding talented facilitators can be challenging. As Registered Nurses, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students typically have years of work experience, making them ideally suited to serve as advanced peer facilitators for IPE offerings.
