Dr. Amy M. Pastva, PT, MA, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery (Physical Therapy), Medicine, Cell Biology, and Population Health Sciences, and Assistant Director of the Duke Health Interprofessional Education and Care Center. She is also a Senior Fellow in the Duke Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. Her research focuses on care transition and physical rehabilitative interventions for older populations with cardiopulmonary diseases and/or critical illness. She is a seasoned educator with over twenty years of experience and is interested in the use of simulation- and team based-learning pedagogy in health professions curricula.

Early interprofessional education (IPE) experiences can optimally position students for ongoing interprofessional learning and practice.
