Ashleigh Barrickman, PharmD, BCACP is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at West Virginia University (WVU) School of Pharmacy and serves as the Director of Skills Development for the School of Pharmacy and Director of Pharmacy Simulation for the WVU Health Sciences Center. Dr. Barrickman coordinates the teaching and assessment of skills throughout the pharmacy curriculum. In addition to skills development, Dr. Barrickman’s other teaching and scholarship interests include immunizations and psychiatric pharmacy.

It is vital that healthcare professionals work together in a concentrated effort to help patients achieve tobacco cessation. As such, it is essential that students in health professions programs learn appropriate communication and teamwork skills to be an effective member of patient care teams.
