Ben has a previous history of undergraduate research in cardiovascular exercise physiology. He is interested in contributing to public health promotion and community outreach with an emphasis on addressing social determinants of health that impact underprivileged populations. He aims to promote interprofessional collaboration, especially in inpatient settings, in order to reduce clinician burnout and improve patient outcomes by decreasing communication errors and workplace harassment. He hopes to bring this approach for improved collaboration into the inevitable future work that will be involved in treating potential sequelae and/or long-term effects in those who contracted COVID-19.
