Dr. Phillips is the Strategic Nursing Advisor for Ascend Learning. She received her ADN from WCTI in Wisconsin; her BSN from ECU; her MSN from Duke; and her PhD in Nursing from UWM. Dr. Phillips spent 9 years at VGCC, where she taught and directed the ADN and LPN programs. Prior to teaching, she spent 13 years working at UNC Hospitals and Vidant Hospital. She retired this spring after almost 16 years at the Duke SON, most recently as Associate Professor and Director of the Institute for Educational Excellence. She is the proud mom of 4 boys and one puppy!

Health professions educators can benefit from continuing education to effectively facilitate interprofessional education (IPE) in clinical settings. Virtual learning formats enable broader participation and overcome barriers to in-person events, but little data exists on the most effective platforms and methods of virtual continuing education for this purpose.
