Brianna Diaz is a 3rd year medical student at Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine currently interested in pursuing Internal Medicine and Palliative Care specialties. Before attending medical school she attended the University of Washington where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Art History. From there she went on to work in the settings of Community Health and Cancer Care. In addition to her scholarly work surrounding Healthcare Student Perceptions around Death and Dying, she is also interested in social justice in medicine, information technology, and writing as a new creative hobby.

Background: Death Over Dinner (DoD) for Healthcare Professionals (https://deathoverdinnerhealthcare.org) is a free, open access website that was created as a resource for healthcare workers to connect around the subjects of death and dying, and to help them process the grief and stress that comes with caring for patients at the end of life.
