Bryan R. Hansen, PhD, RN, APRN-CNS, ACNS-BC is an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing (JHSON) and Principal Faculty of the Center for Innovative Care in Aging. Dr. Hansen completed his PhD and Master of Science in Nursing at JHSON and has expertise in psychiatric, gerontologic, and forensic nursing. He is an adult health clinical nurse specialist and collaborates interprofessionally across several areas of scholarly focus, including delirium, dementia, interprofessional education and practice, palliative care, and harm reduction, among others.

Introduction: Team coordination problems continue to be an important source of errors, inefficiencies, conflict and other adverse events in health care. Structured Interprofessional Bedside Rounds (SIBR) provide a consistent method for patients, families, and clinicians from different disciplines to collaborate in daily discussions of care and clinical decision-making.
