Carla M. Tozer has been involved with Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice activities at the University of Illinois at Chicago since she was a doctoral student and remains so now as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing. She is an inaugural member of the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative.

Background: Successful large enrollment Interprofessional Education (IPE) programs benefit from the expertise of skilled facilitators; however, finding talented facilitators can be challenging. As Registered Nurses, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students typically have years of work experience, making them ideally suited to serve as advanced peer facilitators for IPE offerings.
