I am currently the Director of the Division of Ultrasound as well as the Vice Chair of Eduction and Faculty Development in the UTHSCSA Department of Emergency Medicine, I am also the Ultrasound Discipline Coordinator for the UT Lozano Long School of Medicine in San Antonio. I coordinate the education of medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, advanced practice providers, and nurses through various courses in the use of clinical ultrasound for patient care.

Currently, students have few opportunities for interprofessional education (IPE) in the basic sciences, with related curricula largely carried out in school-specific silos. We hypothesized that basic anatomy education, exposure to IPE competencies and hand sensibility testing (HST) may require interprofessional collaboration from students in medical (MED), occupational therapy (OT), and physician assistant (PA) programs to improve patient outcomes in their future health profession careers.
