Dianne Cooney Miner PhD, RN, FAAN is the founding dean of the Wegmans School of Nursing at St John Fisher College and the director of the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing (GIDDN) established by a $5.8 M grant from Thomas Golisano and the Golisano Foundation. The vision of the institute is to improve health care and outcomes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the lifespan. In June 2021 the GIDDN will launch the first Golisano Fellowship in the Developmental Disability Nursing to create cadres of thought leaders to advance I/DD scholarship, expert practice, education and policy.

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) experience health disparities and inadequate healthcare due partially to lack of knowledge about IDD among healthcare professionals.
