Dr. Heather Thompson Buum is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. She is board certified in General Internal Medicine and has been practicing in academic medicine for 20 years. Her teaching roles include Human Health and Disease course director, small group facilitator for Essentials of Clinical Medicine, and Internal Medicine lead for IMPACT (Interprofessional Minnesota Primary Care Team). She supervises Internal Medicine residents in their Continuity Clinic as well medical students on a Primary Care elective. Current areas of research interest include curriculum development of interactive learning, mentoring in academic medicine, and improving primary care training.
