Jacob Williams is a first-year Master of Public Health (MPH) student at the Medical University of South Carolina. His concentration in the MPH program is biostatistics. Jacob graduated from Clemson University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematical science. He has worked on a research project related to partitions of totally positive algebraic integers with Dr. Hui Xue in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Clemson University and obesity research with the heart health division of the pediatric department at MUSC.

As the COVID-19 pandemic spread through South Carolina, a need for widespread testing sites emerged. This collaborative project brought together an interprofessional cohort of students and professors from Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) to develop criteria for COVID-19 testing sites based on greatest need. The goals of this project were to identify important demographic, geographic, and site level criteria for both drive-thru and walk-up COVID-19 testing sites.
