Jasmina Sisirak, PhD, MPH is Research Assistant Professor, Co-Director of HealthMatters Program,Department of Disability and Human Development at University of Illinois at Chicago and Co-Investigator of the CDC’s Healthy Brain Initiative for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Her research interests are nutrition, health literacy, and health promotion, curriculum development and community implementation sciences for persons with IDD. She has written and presented papers on these topics and co-authored two books, Health Matters: The Exercise and Nutrition Health Education Curriculum for People with Developmental Disabilities and Health Matters for People with Developmental Disabilities: Creating a Sustainable Health Promotion Program.

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) experience health disparities and inadequate healthcare due partially to lack of knowledge about IDD among healthcare professionals.
