I am currently an advanced clinical simulation fellow at the VA in Durham, NC. I am interested in understanding how leadership, resilience, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence (EI) manifests in healthcare workers and trainees. I am currently working on research projects associated with teaching and assessment of EI. My other interests include biomedical innovation, device development, and healthcare consulting.

Background: The value of emotional intelligence (EI) in the interprofessional learning environment (IPLE) is well documented. However, many educators and learners are unaware of tools that exist to assess the strengths and weakness of the individual learner’s EI skills.
