Dr. Jennifer Drost completed her Internal Medicine residency, Geriatric, Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowships at Summa Health. Dr. Drost works at Summa Health and serves as the Home Base Primary Care Medical Director and routinely sees homebound frail older adults and their families in their homes. She enjoys this high-risk population for others and regularly provides experiences for medical students, residents, and fellows. She focuses on ensuring patient centered care while optimizing the interprofessional team. Dr. Drost is the Geriatric Fellowship Program Director at Summa Health and Co-project director for the NEOMED Geriatric Workforce Enhancement program, a HRSA funded grant.

By the end of this seminar, learners will gain knowledge of a multi-step method for designing a virtual interactive interprofessional education (IPE) event, gain skills for creating a virtual IPE applying the multi-step method, and gain skills and strategies for overcoming common barriers associated with implementing an IPE.   Teamwork competencies are inconsistently taught across the health professions, potentially causing a disconnect between education and practice.
