Jennifer Glassman, PhD, CCC-SLP, CHES serves as an assistant professor at The University of Toledo and has been with the university since 2007. Since that time has served as a visiting professor, clinic coordinator, and supervisory clinician for the speech language pathology program. She earned her doctorate in Health Education in 2017. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and an ASHA certified speech language pathologist. Her research interests include the relationship between communication disorders and health. Her passion is community service where each summer she oversees a speech camp for school-age children who benefit from supplemental speech therapy.

Addressing the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) has been shown to improve patient outcomes while decreasing healthcare costs, both of which contribute to WHO’s Quadruple Aim. Interprofessional education (IPE) is a critical component in the learning process for healthcare professionals to be prepared to address clients’ unmet SDOH needs.
