Josie Benzie is a current senior at St. Catherine University, and will receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology Spring of 2022. At St. Kate's, she is a member of both the Antonian and TriBeta biological honor programs. Outside of school Josie enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and volunteering. Her greatest passion is interacting with others in meaningful ways, which is why she is pursuing rural family medicine as a career. Josie has presented on this topic at both the St.Catherine Henrietta Schmoll school of health spring colloquium and the Minnesota Geriatric Society poster conference.

Students in younger generations tend to have a negative impression of older adults but are likely to be working with this population in the future if pursuing a healthcare-based career. Opportunities to develop relationships between the two populations improve the quality of interactions for all involved (Branscum & Sciaraffa, 2013; Seaman et al., 2017).
