Kayla Morrell is a medical student at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, who is interested in pediatric medicine. She graduated from the University of Delaware with her Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences and minored in anthropology. She is passionate about children's education, as well as their healthcare outcomes, and set out to identify ways to incorporate health education into the already existing classroom curricula.

Background/Purpose: Delaware elementary schools are required by the Department of Education to teach thirty hours per grade of health education. Since low health literacy is associated with poorer health outcomes, it is important that these standards be met to minimize poor health outcomes for the youngest healthcare consumers.
