Dr. Laressa Bethishou, PharmD, APh, BCPS is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Chapman University School of Pharmacy, and faculty in residence at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, CA. She practices as a transitions of care pharmacist, supporting safe and effective care transitions for patients at high risk for readmission. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Southern California and completed a one-year acute care residency at Stanford Health Care. Her research areas of interest include health care interventions to optimize healthcare transitions, student personal and professional development, and education innovations to support practice readiness.

Presenting at the Nexus Summit:

The purpose of this experience was to expose pharmacy and nursing students to leadership and patient advocacy skills within an interprofessional team. The experience allowed students to immerse into an interactive environment during remote learning through a virtual simulation.
