Mary Beth Vassy is a first year MPH student at MUSC. Her concentration in the MPH program is biostatistics. Mary Beth Graduated from College of Charleston in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in public health. She has completed research at CofC pertaining to phthalate levels and personal care products along side Dr. Leslie Hart as part of the CofC Women’s Health Research Team. Mary Beth Plans to complete her master’s degree and pursue a career in medical research.

As the COVID-19 pandemic spread through South Carolina, a need for widespread testing sites emerged. This collaborative project brought together an interprofessional cohort of students and professors from Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) to develop criteria for COVID-19 testing sites based on greatest need.
