Matthew Thomas is a first-year Master of Public Health (MPH) student at the Medical University of South Carolina. His concentration in the MPH program is health promotion and health behavior. Austin graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health. After his master’s degree, Austin hopes to attend Medical School and has an interest in community health.

As the COVID-19 pandemic spread through South Carolina, a need for widespread testing sites emerged. This collaborative project brought together an interprofessional cohort of students and professors from Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) to develop criteria for COVID-19 testing sites based on greatest need.
