Pamela Dickey is an Assistant Professor for the Division of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in the US. She has a degree in Education and recieved her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from UNMC. She has 20 years of practice experience in family medicine and emergency medicine. Her academic interests include problem-based learning, medical communications, health humanities, and interprofessional education.

Desired attributes of a well-rounded medical provider include resilience, empathy, and sensitivity in patient communication. The Introduction of Health Humanities into Physician Assistant Education (IHAPAE) pilot study focuses on developing these attributes by introducing health humanities content into the established curriculum. This presentation discusses how IHAPAE emerged and provides an overview of the project.
