I teach undergraduate nursing students as an assistant professor at the University of Southern Indiana (USI). In addition to teaching at USI, I am the Chair of the College of Nursing and Health Professions Wellness Committee where my passion is health promotion among faculty, staff, and students. I am the President of the Sigma Omicron Psi Nursing Honor Society where our vision is to empower nurses and nursing students to transform global healthcare. I have presented at regional and national conferences on the use of TeamSTEPPS® as an approach to promote safety, effective communication, and leadership skills.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
The faculty, staff, and health profession students conducted an interprofessional wellness fair aiming to promote health and provide opportunities for interprofessional collaboration. The disciplines of nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, and kinesiology practiced the competencies of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) and TeamSTEPPS® through training and implementation at the interprofessional wellness fair.
