Robin Johnson, DNP, APN, CPNP-PC, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago College of Nursing. Dr. Johnson has been in the nursing field for 16 years. Her clinical experience includes acute and primary settings with her focus primarily in pediatrics. Additional areas of interest and clinical expertise include transition of care and self-agency for children, adolescents, and young adults with chronic medical conditions. Dr. Johnson is actively involved in interprofessional initiatives at the college, and university level. Current clinical practice includes involvement in student volunteer coordination and oversight at a Covid-19 mass vaccination site
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration provided emergency use authorization for the first COVID-19 vaccine in December 2020 causing healthcare systems to rapidly develop vaccine distribution models. This talk will discuss how, with faculty leadership, interprofessional students across four health science colleges staffed an academic affiliated hospital’s vaccine clinics to provide over 100,000 vaccinations in five months.
