Dr. Sara North PT, DPT, M.Ed. serves as the Director of Educational Innovation and Evaluation and Assistant Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at the University of Minnesota. Dr. North also serves as the UMN Co-Director of the Center for Interprofessional Health. Dr. North’s passion for the development and assessment of innovative pedagogy focuses on collaborative initiatives to move interprofessional education (IPE) forward through academic-clinical partnerships and data-informed curricular design and assessment.

Innovations are needed to advance interprofessional education and bridge the nexus to clinical practice. Preparing our health profession learners as collaborative practice-ready providers will require use of advanced technologies, novel educational models for authentic, community-engaged learning, and self-directed asynchronous opportunities to reflect on interprofessional competency development.
