Shannon Maloney is a graduate from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s of Science and minor in Psychology. She is currently in the Masters of Occupational Therapy Program at Wayne State University. Shannon is a part of the Pi Theta Epsilon, the national Occupational Therapy Honor Society. She has previous research experience assisting in research projects involving heart rate variability research and multiple sclerosis where she analyzed previously published research performed and participated in data collect. Shannon has also completed a graduate level research course in the MOT program.

Background: The Wayne State University Interprofessional Team Visit (IPTV) program assesses adults age 50+ within the community. Disciplines include medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant, dental, and social work students. During the 60-minute virtual visit, each IPTV team gathered information regarding the adult’s daily activities, nutrition, medications, family health, and social supports. Next, each team collaborated to determine current health status, identify areas of risk, and provide support and/or resources.
