Dr. Horak is an Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director for the Division of Physician Assistant at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the US. His interests include case-based learning, primary care, clinical doctorate education for physician assistants, and interprofessional education. He has participated with numerous interprofessional activities among the campus and outside institutions.

Desired attributes of a well-rounded medical provider include resilience, empathy, and sensitivity in patient communication. The Introduction of Health Humanities into Physician Assistant Education (IHAPAE) pilot study focuses on developing these attributes by introducing health humanities content into the established curriculum. This presentation discusses how IHAPAE emerged and provides an overview of the project.
