Dr. Gibson-Scipio is an Associate Professor Clinical in the College of Nursing at Wayne State University. Her research is focused on the care of vulnerable populations. She has targeted interventions that improve access to care and that support disease self-management such as mobile based decision support programs. She has also targeted the education of health professionals that provide care for persons who experience health disparities. In the submitted abstract Dr. Gibson-Scipio was a lead developer of the quality improvement initiative that focused on the health education of an interprofessional group of health professionals on the delivery of telehealth.

BackgroundDue to the COVID-19 pandemic, health professional programs revolved quickly to virtually deliver sound pedagogy for students’ learning and clinical practice.
