Laura Birkeland, MS, CGC is a certified genetic counselor and Assistant Professor (CHS) at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is the Assistant Program Director for the Masters in Genetic Counselor Studies program where she teaches two courses for genetic counseling students in metabolic and prenatal genetics, has co-mentored genetic counseling students with their research project, and provides fieldwork supervision to both first- and second-year genetic counseling students. Clinically, she provides genetic counseling services at UnityPoint Health-Meriter and UWHealth. She received her MS in Medical Genetics at UW-Madison and her BA in Biology at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.

1. Highlight the importance and the impacts of IPE Badges and Path of Distinction on developing collaborative practice-ready future practitioners.
2. Explore a framework for creating requirements for an IPE Path of Distinction that works across different health science programs.
