Mary L Wagner, Pharm.D., MS As a faculty member in the School of Pharmacy, Rutgers University, she is director of interprofessional education (IPE), serves on a university committee that manages IPE programs for the University, and provides patient consults in an interprofessional community health clinic. She is a member of the New Jersey Interagency Council on Osteoporosis for the State of New Jersey, Department of Health. Her scholarship involves IPE, policy change related to interprofessional clinical teams, and medications in patients with neurologic conditions. She has been an investigator/coinvestigator on 6 IPE grants that included 8 different health professional schools.

DescriptionA vital component of delivering collaborative interprofessional care is understanding each profession's roles and expertise. A total of 119 students from physical therapy, pharmacy, and nursing programs participated in a 3-day hybrid interprofessional (IPE) event, where students virtually trained each other to screen community members in-person for osteoporosis/fall risk. The value of this IPE was it advanced the educational experience beyond traditional learning by allowing students to apply knowledge and engage in real-life client situations.
