Dr. Michele Reisinger is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has practiced greater than 25 years in rural Kansas serving patients across the lifespan. She is an Assistant professor at Washburn University in the doctoral program educating family nurse practitioners. Dr. Reisinger serves as the Primary Investigator for the Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) grant awarded to Washburn University – Topeka, KS. She is a member of the National Rural Health Association and has served as a prior Rural Health Fellow. Dr. Reisinger has research and scholarly publication interests involving access to preventive services and chronic disease management in rural communities.

Pandemic Pearls: Integrating Telehealth Applications into Community Based Doctoral Nursing Education
This pilot study aims to empower chronic disease self-management strategies, foster improved individual and community health outcomes, as well as sustain interprofessional partnerships. Purposeful telehealth applications and re-envisioned clinical and didactic adaptations will enhance the provision of primary care in two at-risk, community-based populations.
