Nestor Worobetz, BSE, MD Candidate
MUSC College of Medicine, Class of 2023
Medical University of South Carolina
Nestor is a third-year medical student at the Medical University of South Carolina which he attended after receiving his Bachelor’s of Biomedical Engineering from the University of South Carolina. He is serving his second year as the President of the MUSC Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Interest Group where he hopes to spread knowledge about this surgical subspecialty as well as provide opportunities to develop helpful surgical fine-motor skills before his peers are placed into those clinical environments. Nestor believes that preparation is very important towards professional development and increases the quality of service provided in all environments. Emergency healthcare is an excellent example. After completing an Emergency Preparation elective course, he returned as a student designer to redesign the class based off of his experience and help create another Emergency Preparation elective. He believes that the value of anticipating emergency response operations is critical to the medical educational experience and hopes MUSC will continue to provide the opportunities to teach its students how to responsibly respond to stressful situations within healthcare leadership roles.
