Entry level occupational therapy (OT), occupational therapy assistant, and nursing students participated in two three-hour activities involving pre-simulation work, pre-briefing, simulation activities, and debriefing facilitated by OT and nursing faculty. Activities were developed by faculty to align with the INACSL Standards of Best Practice in Simulation. An electronic health record was utilized by students during their pre-simulation and post-debrief learning activities. Student outcomes were assessed through self-ratings prior to and following engagement in the interprofessional learning activities through the SPICE-R assessment tool (Dominquez et al., 2015). Students' ability to understand other professionals' roles and work on an interprofessional team improved from pre to post based on self ratings. Survey responses indicated students recognized the value of communication among interprofessional team members to provide client centered care. Attendees will gain awareness of how the SPICE-R can be used as a mechanism for evaluating student perceptions and learning as a result of interprofessional simulation experiences.
